Made some progress on the weekend!

In Revenge of the Sith all the Kashyyyk scenes look to have a grey filter applied over them. This gives the atmosphere of a gritty war torn beach, and not a lovely bright beach side holiday.
You can actually see a tiny picture of a Clone Scout without the filter in the book "Star Wars Chronicles the Prequels". Compare him to the scout below! His leg is way brighter than the rest.

So to replicate the grey filter I purchased some "smoke grey" from MTN 94. This is a 1/4 strength spray can, meaning mostly clear with a hint of grey.

Gingerly applying it to my suit I got the results I was looking for, a "washed out" look.

I think this is the effect I need! In real life especially, all the colours have settled down and don't jump out at you anymore.

I've also added some brown paint to the undersuit to address some purply tones which has worked great.

(Note how little foam I have in the top of the helmet so it sits down far enough, yeh, the mould for this bucket needs some serious work Bikerchick...)

I made a fan system for my helmet also, the dual fans pipe air down a rubber hose and it blows out over my visor, keeping it de-fogged. Looks messy yes but it works Hehehe

Only a few more tweaks now!

Yup same with my helmet. I think I barely got a 5mm thick piece in there on top and I can't get fans around the front at all.

On the tank stripe, the approval feedback I got was to bring the vertical stripes from the end of the horizontal one, down that seam/join until the point the tank meets the backplate. Same as the biker scout. But yeah, there's basically no screenies I could find that show it clearly.

Clearly but it’s a logical deduction based
on the Scouts that it’s the way they would
be done , even resorting to the fact there is
no logical reason to have a separate horizontal one .

I used watered down acrylic paints. A redish brown and black Smile

Adding a post to include reference material for my tank top.
Unfortunately the included top was a little too large to be perfectly accurate, I don't have the materials to create a better scaled one, so I fitted the one included in my kit.

Despite my gripes it does include all the details to be screen accurate and I painted it to match this image:

Black tank top with a red button, two white knobs and grey highlights.

That’s not a grey stripe on top , it’s all black and just lighting , otherwise the two discs are the same colour as well , can’t see the red in the screenshots, not at this resolution anyway .

I did think it was a grey stripe.. but maybe it's just black and tricked me into thinking it was grey.

Maybe this zoomed in shot is better to see the red dot and white tops on two of the greebs.

Agree on the red dot , the grey stripe however is definitely an illusion as the second screenshot shows . At least that image also shows the vertical black stripe .
