Brighton State School Book Week - Sithprincess - Wednesday 29-Aug-2012 Date: 2012-08-28th Venue: Brighton State School Time: 9am - 10am Mission: Be awesome at the Book Week Parade Trooper Attendance: BigMac - TK Sithprincess - Queen Amidala Guest Trooper Attendance: Cadet MammaSith - Princess Leia Cadet Spooky - TK Mini Trooper Attendance: Ethan as Vader Maddison and Isobel as Princess Leia Support Crew: Bruce Detail: After Oevil1 fell victim to a nasty Rebel Plot known as the Flu, MammaSith put out a desperate call for Troops to replace him. Sithprincess jumped to the call, and was also able to recruit Cadet Spooky to fill Oevil1's shoes, and armour, knowing he would be keen to have the chance to wear armour again, and not disappoint the kids. At the last minute, BigMac also jumped to the call, which was great, as 2 TKs are always better than 1. We arrived at the venue to suit up. The girls got there first and dressed as undercover agents by donning Rebel costumes. Spooky then arrived, and was dressed (and slightly squished) into Oevil1's (skinny) armour. He looked great, and is more and more excited about getting his own. Having only confirmed details that morning, BigMac was last to arrive, but proved his skill and professionalism by dressing quickly and unaided into his armour. We then entered the hall to a loud chant of "Redbacks! Redbacks! Redbacks!....." (I now think this should be chanted at our arrival to all future events). We did a lap of the kids, which they loved. They too were all dressed as various characters. It could've been a scene from the Mos Eisley Cantina. Then each class left one by one, but not before coming over to meet us, shake our hands, and say thank you, etc. But most kids wanted to 'hug' a Stormtrooper. I've never seem them that popular, and receive so many hugs. We also received certificates of appreciation, and the entire school is really looking forward to our attendance at their fete in a couple of weeks. Mission was a huge success. Great time had by all, both Troopers, and kids. Well done, Team! I tried to be available for this but couldn't, and you troops have lessened my (unnecessary) guilt for possibly letting some kids down. Fantastic work, and it's great to hear they are so excited! PS: Tamsin, are you actually interacting with that child there...? Nah, just posing for a photo. Me? Interact with a child? In a non glaring, not trying to reduce them to tears with a look or a growl, kinda way? Never! RE: Brighton State School Book Week - Oevil1 - Thursday 30-Aug-2012 Special thanks out to all who helped on this non-official troop. I was so upset that I couldn't attend. I'm slowly climbing back into the world of the living and fingers crossed, I won't be missing anymore troops...thanks again. You all did a GREAT JOB!
