Troop Report
Date: 24th March, 2013

Venue: Bandstand Park, Wynnum Foreshore

Time: 7-11am

Mission: 4km walk for Awareness and Education of Melanoma, and Remembrance of loved ones affected by this insidious disease.

Trooper Attendance: Rubber, Bullant, Redpaint, RebelRach, JGirl, Madine, Glitch, The Sniper, Stormraven, Bids, Mr Krunch, Chopper,

Guest Trooper Attendance: Tanna, muppet, Kath,

Support Crew: Ironclaw, Mrs Bids,

Detail: An early start didnt deter the troopers from turning up on time. And what better way to start your Sunday, then a leisurely stroll along the beautiful Wynnum foreshore. The Jawa's felt like they were back at home, as the temperature was near the point of un-bearable. Many pics were taken, many smiles were made.
The 4km walk was completed in not time, a brisk pace was set.
Im very thankful to all you troopers and family for attending, as this means a lot to me. Sun cancer is a hideous disease and the more we can make people aware of it, the less chance people will have to deal with it.

Charity Funds Raised: tins were rattled, and handed back into the MAD

Injuries: muppet roled his ankle

Malfunctions: n/a

Public Incidents:if you include smiling people, hundreds

Mission Status: Complete

It was an awesome troop, glad I did this 4km as a warm up for anything longer as I found a couple of problem areas that need some attention. It was super hot, and a note to new players, "DON'T TROOP IN CHEMICAL GLOVES". At about the 1/2 way mark I though my left hand felt warm, but put it down to the hot day. Recon I emptied a cup full of sweat out of each, and as for the cotton liners, well they went strait to the bin.
The crowd was very responsive, and had many high 5's and pictures on the trip.
Stormtroopers: instant recognition combined with complete anonymity

I had a great time, and awesome trooping with more folk I hadn't met, and the armour all looked great. Crowds were very receptive...the Ghostbusters music along the way was an added bonus!

Well done troopers and wranglers, a personal thank you from me, I've lost part of my face and nose to this insidious disease, so it's a cause I'm pretty passionate about.
Our costumes are pretty sun smart really (but unfortunately freaking hot).
