Test alignment of counter, scope, sights etc
As a point of reference, make sure the back of the Hengsler counter lines up with the mounting pins for the folding stock. I have seen this in a few reference shots from the movie, and it is the preferred alignment on the FISD when building your armour to Centurion level.

Started to pin things today, power cylinders, front and rear sight
Note, I still haven't drilled out the resin hex bolt in the mag receiver . This will be replaced with a 5 mm hex thread available at Masters Hardware.

More pinning, grip will also be screwed and glued onto barrel.

Screw counter sunk to attach folding stock, once attached I will putty the hole sand mask and paint.
You could also add an extra screw through one of the existing drill outs a little further down the folding stock, so you don't have to make an extra hole as I did.

Flash gaurds and rear release switch glued. Pined the switch and noticed that the rear sight had moved slightly during the gluing process (bugger)

Finally started to paint, Primer coat first.
Make sure you buy an appropriate primer for plastics.

And some minor assembly with screws and epoxy resin
[Image: Assembly_zps1c15c0d7.jpg]

Trimed thr bolt length down, and couldn't believe I actually had a socket that fit the tiny nut, so used lock tight and tightened.

Started work on the cocking lever, Masters, irrigation section have the perfect pipe. 15mm and about 20cm long, fits into the Doopy barrel nicely. Cost 95cents.
Used the Dremell to flatten a section for the lever, will need a small nut and bolt to secure the lever to the tube while it is in the barrel, I can see now, that is going to be tricky.

A little more painting.
I decided to paint flat black first, then mask up the T and non textured surfaces as I will use a metallic hammer finish on the parts required.
Blaster masked and ready for Hammer paint.

A few other parts painted Matt black

Once the Hammer coat has had time to cure, the finish coat of of Matt or satin black will go over the top, and finally the gloss black for the grip and hopefully the final assembley. exciting days are ahead indeed.

I wanted to actually complete something in this build today, and seeing as the scope was the closest to finished, I did the final trimming.
1. The old rub the white crayon into the lettering trick.
[Image: 1234d9e3-00bd-4f28-b026-372faa51a8f7_zpsfb7a6f8b.jpg]

2. Use a sharp knife and a cloth and clean off the top layer, leaving the crayon in the groves. I then carefully dug out some of the crayon to keep the lettering in line with an old used scope.

3. And this is a big Thank you to Oevil1 for the supply of reticules and the sight decal, this scope would not be near as good without his service. Thanks Tim.

Thanks Seantrooper and Oevil1, still got a little bit of work to go with the cocking bolt and then weathering on the barrel etc.

For some reason the gloss paint on the grip and the flat paint on the t parts of the barrel are tacky or feel a little sticky still.
Have had 2 + days to cure so not sure why, possibly used the wrong primer originally?????

That would be my first guess Sly...could be a dodgy batch of paint too.
