Details:
So the First troop for the new year started off with Imperial shuttles and Troop transports descended upon the Glen hotel in Brisbane south quadrant to help protect Alan a member of a great local community group we support Brisbricks to celebrate his 40th birthday with all his guests.

About 19:15 hours we make our way out to the crowds [Image: 20160102_191905_zpsaaefg1yv.jpg]that had no idea we were there, many pictures taken, with the new and old troopers, Vader still seems to be popular but give it time and the new guy will be the one they all want to see.

As we get pictures with Alan and his party guests [Image: 20160102_192013_zpsp1w9a3r8.jpg], the general public also see us and want to get pictures [Image: 20160102_192045_zpsxlosf515.jpg], the young and old snap some selfies and high fives all round.

Got a picture of us all around the local cantina bar with some Blue Milk on order [Image: 20160102_193346_zps1ak4ulnb.jpg]for after we made Alans Birthday just that little bit better.

Once the crowds begun to disperse Vader had to go back for a rest as did a couple others [Image: 20160102_193427_zpsjszqkrmf.jpg], The old TK and Newbie stayed for a final last pictures around the Star Wars theme cake [Image: 20160102_192200_zpschyoovyx.jpg] and a quick tally of the nights bill [Image: 20160102_195810_zpsarkcncsn.jpg], we also returned to change, then we all returned in civi to enjoy that Blue Milk and a meal, which looked like a Millennium Falcon.

Well done team, great troop report Beanie

RE: Jan 02 2016 - Brisbricks Alans Birthday Party - Rubber - Monday 4-Jan-2016

Well done Beanie and thanks for raising the event. It was good fun.

The best bit was when we had changed and re-joined the party.
One of Alan's friends told Muppet he wasn't allowed to sit at the table as it was a private function.
Not sure who was more embarrassed, Alan's friend or Muppet.

Alan (the birthday boy) just sent in a message of thanks for the troopers

"Hi, I would like to send a message of appreciation for my 40th Birthday party that was attended recently by members of the 501st Legion. I had an amazing night in large part due to the attendance of the Troopers, Darth Vader and Queen Padme. The people were all friendly (even the force choking part) and their willingness to interact with the guests added a great atmosphere to the night. I also found the costumes… errr… uniforms to be amazingly detail and screen accurate. What is also more amazing is that everyone was a volunteer. Seeing the smiles on all the kids (and adults) faces was priceless. Needless to say I was more than happy with making a donation to charity on the 501st behalf as support of this event. Please pass on my appreciation to everyone that attended the night.
Thanks Again
Alan Burchill
P.S Please feel free to use this as a recommendation for anyone else wanting to engage the 501st for events."
