Down Syndrome Walk - stormraven - Wednesday 2-Nov-2016 Date: Saturday 22nd October 2016 Venue: New Farm Park, Brisbane  Time: 1500 - 1700  Mission: To attend the annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk event at New Farm Park. Trooper Attendance: Rhino (SCG) – TD Imperial Drone – TI:RP Rebelrach - TS (trial wear with GML approval) Doc - TB Stormraven - DZ RL: Alrakis – Jedi Galactic Academy JJ – Boba Fett Support Crew: Gai (SCG) – wrangle Tobalation (RL) – wrangle Jess (GA) - photos Details:  An inclement day but still very busy at the park, troopers assembled for a car park change.  Walking through the Powerhouse complex we were stopped for photos by a few folk, then headed down to the park meeting point. The crowds grew as the troopers approached, many pics taken and high fives given. We led the walk along the river’s edge then through the park, before coming back and joining in some games, soccer, cricket and a sing along. JJ proved he was great at soccer in and out of his kit, Rhino made a good striker, Alrakis was pretty handy with the cricket bat and Rach was bowled out first ball. (some excuse about not being able to see in her helmet). Another great troop completed, we dekitted then headed off to the Merthyr Bowls club for refreshments, and to help Imperial Drone celebrate a belated Birthday. Charity Funds Raised: Nil Injuries / Malfunctions: NIL Public Incidents: NIL. Mission Status: A success. We are well received by the kids and families, and the organisers appreciate us being there. Thanks for having us along Stormraven (we might have missed it as it didn't appear in the RL events). Also, the look of horror on the faces of the two kids at the Powerhouse when they thought their scooters had been "seized" by the Empire was golden (took a few Jedi mind tricks to convince them they would be returned as "they weren't the scooters the Troopers were looking for". Looking forward to next year.
