Qld Air Museum - Fast Jets & The Future 28 Sep 2024 - Rebelrach - Thursday 3-Oct-2024 Date: Sat 28 September 2024 Venue: Queensland Air Museum, 9 Pathfinders Drive, Caloundra West, Qld Time: 1000-1400 Mission: Theme of the event was “Fast Jets and the Future” so perfect for us! Our 12th year to wow the crowds at the Qld Air Museum, this day being the 3rd event of the year for fundraising for the museum. Always a great troop for the aviation enthusiasts amongst us with great photo opportunities as we mingle with the crowd and exhibits. Trooper Attendance: Redback Garrison: Stormraven 181st Pilot Mykill – Tie Pilot Imperial Soup – TK Rebelrach – POC / Wrangle Sithprincess – Tonnika Sister Lucky Phil – ISB Officer RL Tatooine Base: Gavin – Xwing pilot Rebelrach – Xwing pilot Lucky Phil – Wilrow Hood Sithprincess – Tonnika Sister Support Crew: Robotom – Wrangle / Photos Details: A very wet day greeted the troopers as we assembled for the troop from 0900. Luckily for everyone the showers became more sporadic and manageable as the gates opened at 10am. This year there were giant scale warplane models and even the Navy band was playing jazz. The crowds were a bit down due to the weather, it got busier towards lunch time. Troopers wandered amongst the aircraft displays and stopped for photos with the public and museum volunteers, well received as always. Shoutout to Jeremey (Imperial Soup) for his first event here, he did a great job. We had a break for lunch then did another hour around the museum, walking through the F-111 hangar and a big group of kids who were there for a Birthday party were thrilled to see the troopers, many photos ensued. With the event wrapping up a quick trip to the gift shop – the Museum is 50 years old this year so lots of merch to check out – troopers said farewell for another year to the staff and headed home. Charity Funds Raised: Nil Injuries / Malfunctions: Nil. Public Incidents: NIL. Mission Status: SUCCESS – as always!!! A HUGE thanks to all the troopers that came up in the wet weather and made it a great event. The museum keeps adding more exhibits and models each year making it always a great troop. We have a standing invitation again for next year! Photos: RE: Qld Air Museum - Fast Jets & The Future 28 Sep 2024 - Firestorm - Thursday 24-Oct-2024 Fantastic effort troopers.
