[Casting Call for Star Wars Short Film – Clone Wars-Era Cosplayers Wanted!] - Grey Knight - Tuesday 15-Oct-2024
Hello Redback Garrison members!
My name is Tim Shen, and I’m a passionate Star Wars fan, filmmaker based in Brisbane, and the founder of the QUT Lightsaber Choreography Club. I’m also a cosplayer portraying an original Old Republic character. Recently, I embarked on an exciting film project with my crew, producing a short film that emphasizes choreography and immersive storytelling, staying true to the spirit of the Star Wars universe.
To make the film as accurate to the Clone Wars Era as possible, we're looking to recruit cosplayers
- Phase II Clone Troopers
- Republic Characters (Jedi, Commanders, etc.)
- Mandalorians

I'm Luke Shadbolt, better known here as Bolt. I have quite a few approved Clone Wars era costumes. Are you looking for animated or realistic (Movie) troopers?
I have the following Phase 2 Clones:
-ROTS Commander Cody
-ROTS Phase 2 grunt (plain white trooper)
-ROTS Commander Bacara
-ROTS Kashyyyk Trooper
I'm also working on a few others but they aren't done yet haha
I obviously can't play all these Clone at once, but if you needed different scenes with different Clones then that is possible.
I can't speak on their behalf but here are a few of our other Clone Wars members and the costumes they have:
Snips
- Animated Bo Katan
MyKill
- Jedi Knight
RingMaster
- Currently working on a realistic (movie) style Captain Rex and a ROTS Commander Neyo
Glitch
- If I hurry up and paint his helmet haha, will soon have a ROTS Phase 2 grunt (plain white trooper) to match mine.
He has quite a few other clones also.

Thank you so much for your detailed response and interest! Your collection of costumes is incredible, and it’s great to see how passionate you and the other members are about Clone Wars-era characters.
For our project, we’re filming a short film set around the events of Order 66. The script focuses on a Jedi and Mandalorian escaping from a hunt, so the tone will be intense and cinematic. As such, we’re mainly looking to cast unnamed Phase 2 Clone Troopers—specifically with costumes that align closely with the realistic, movie-style version from Revenge of the Sith, rather than the animated series.
Filming is set to begin around mid-November, but the exact dates aren’t finalized yet—we’ll need to coordinate with everyone’s availability to lock in the schedule. If you're interested, I’d be happy to discuss more specifics through Instagram DM (@Shenxobi) to streamline communication.
It’s fantastic to hear you have so many costumes and potential collaborators on your end. We would love to involve multiple clones for different scenes to enhance the authenticity of the story. If anyone else from your group is available and willing to join, we’d absolutely welcome them.
