Astro Pete's International Observe the Moon night. - Oevil1 - Thursday 27-Sep-2012 Date: 22 September 2012 Venue: Astro Pete's Cafe and Telescopes Time: 7pm-ish Mission: To view the Moon for International Observe the Moon Night...and look awesome! Trooper Attendance: Muppet, BIDS, Stormraven, Mortogg, Phantom, Ocular, Mammasith, Phoenix, Oevil1, Hopfot, Chopper, The Sniper Guest Trooper Attendance: Mini Vader Support Crew: Bullant, Buzzard, Ocular Detail: "He's heading for that small moon" "Thats no moon. Thats a space station...no wait, my fault. It is a moon." Thats right! The moon was in its full cresent glory as it shone the path for an Imperial entrence to rival the steps of the Earthling Neil Armstrong. Younglings and other followers of all shapes and sizes were a plenty as our troops began to mingle with the local population, lulling them into a false sense of secrurity before their impending domination. Of course the indigenous population flocked to the awesomeness of our troops, officers and bounty hunters... Of course Barista Fett did his part for recruiting... Our troops soon got into the spirit of the night and tried to operate the local technologies...afterall, they will soon be all ours bwhahahaha!! Camoflage techniques were also put into use for those surprise attacks... The troop was long and hard for some as the boys had already completed a successful campaigne in the Toowoomba system earlier that day. Their conviction to the cause of Imperial rule is exemplary!! I think the rebel leader was just finishing him off. Some R&R was certainly in need for our brave boys... Of course tempers did flare up between our Commander and Barista Fett. But they soon settled their differences by sharing a common interest. Luckily they had their 'helmets' on. With the evening drawing to an end, the splendor of the Earth Moon was one to behold. And should make for a great ammunitions dump. The mission was a complete success...so much so, differences were forgotten, if only just for a moment... ...she was later arrested on her way to the lavatory Charity Funds Raised: $143.90 from the generous public and $100 from the even more generous Astro Pete Injuries: Just exhaustion for the all day Troopers...well done again boys! Malfunctions: All was silent then...CLANG CLANG DING Ding ding ding di....Barista Fett's blaster barrell fell victim to the harsh mistress called gravity. Public Incidents: Shock and awe! Mission Status: Highly successful with 200+ people turning out to see our troops in action. RE: Astro Pete's International Observe the Moon night. - Cyclops - Thursday 27-Sep-2012 Good summation of a great night Oevil1 , first time for me in public in imperial garb and it had to be the guard robes and helmet without a fan . What a fantastic time though seeing the public reaction from inside a helmet and a good weight loss program as a walking sauna . Am getting really excited about the prospect of doing this on a regular basis. RE: Astro Pete's International Observe the Moon night. - Oevil1 - Thursday 27-Sep-2012 I have to admit it mate...trooping is like a drug. Welcome to Trooping Anonymous You held up the Imperial Guard really well... ...and you did a fine job on the camera, Ocular. Can't wait for us to troop again. RE: Astro Pete's International Observe the Moon night. - Buzzard - Thursday 27-Sep-2012 It was an excellent night. I almost didn't come but I'm glad I made the effort. RE: Astro Pete's International Observe the Moon night. - Phoenix - Friday 28-Sep-2012 Excellent report Tim! This was truly a great night. It wasn't easy Trooping the Carnival of Flowers at Toowoomba and then Trooping this, but a lot of us wouldn't have it any other way. I wwouldn't ever want to miss a gig at Astro Pete's! As you can see, Commander Phoenix hires 'The Fett' for important missions to assist the Stormtroopers under his command and the two have been known to hang out together. We thought that the Adult Store was a rogue Cloning Facility - we were sort of correct in that regard. And Boba ate the last slice of pizza, to which he was told that if he did it again he would meet a chump's fate by falling unceremoniously into a Sarlacc Pit Monster. Most embarrassing moment was when for a photo I tilted my helmet onto the shoulder of Princess Leia and covered her eyes with my hand... only to later realise it wasn't MammaSith but somebody wearing clothes that almost resembled a Leia costume - damn helmet vision. Stormtroopers protecting kids and pumping raised fists! (Thursday 27-Sep-2012, 03:35 PM)MammaSith Wrote: Mini Vader had a great time, thanks everyone for including himThe real Darth Vader: all you other Vader's are just pretenders to the helmet. What can I say, it's International Observe the Moon Night - so we did just that, we observed the moon at night. RE: Astro Pete's International Observe the Moon night. - Phantom - Friday 28-Sep-2012 Had a great time at the troop. The two troops at Astro Petes have been great, he is a very gracious host. Fett will always do work for the empire. Good to catch up with those who pay my bills and expenses, Commander Phoenix it is always a pleasure. As for pizza you agreed to pay my expenses, just because you paid for the pizza doesn't entitle you to the last slice. Any more idle threats will be dealt with swiftly, then we will see who is the chump. Should post the pizza pic on FB and direct dominos to see it....free pizza for Commander Phoenix and Fett RE: Astro Pete's International Observe the Moon night. - BIDS - Friday 28-Sep-2012 Just wondering if anyone found a pair of wrist length leather gloves after the troop ? I've managed to misplace mine & I've got a feeling I left them on the small bench just outside the door to the store/change room. |
