Mission Report:
Twas a fine day for a gathering of Sith Lords this Saturday past and with yet another appearance from the "bobble-head" himself, the troops came from far and wide to be part of the spectacle. I know it's not "canon" to have 4 Vader's out at the one time but for a once off event like this, an exception to the rule was made.
With an early night for most on the Friday night, everyone rocked up to the parking lot out the front of Old Parliament House at oh my god it's early. A quick reconnaissance by one of the wranglers located where the Vader balloon was setting up and even though it was not going to be fully operational (flying), they were going to tether and inflate so that the crowds could appreciate the true power of the Dark Side of the Force!
Once everyone had kitted up we made our way down to the crowds and stood near the pond. You'd think we were feeding the birds with the frenzy that took place next. Absolute hordes descended upon us fighting for prime position to get that possibly once in a lifetime photo of the 14 screen accurate troopers, including 4 Vaders! Frightening stuff! Thankfully we had some of the best wranglers that money could rent who for the most part, kept the crowds at bay.
Once the sun had well and truly peeped over the hills, our wranglers moved us away from the crowds and escorted us over to the Vader balloon, as it was starting to be inflated.
Once the dust had settled sane heads called for a halt in proceedings considering how early we'd been up and we called it a day save a couple final shots on the steps of Old Parliament House.
Buckets off! (all except Josh who was looking way too awesome to go buckets off )
Overall a fantastic mornings troop followed by everyone getting together for a sumptuous breakfast at one of the city centres fine eateries. This was then followed later in the evening by a fantastic show I put on for our interstate visitors consisting of a military drill including cannon fire, helicopter display, fireworks, and a lovely picnic put on by my wonderful wife.
Thanks to everyone who came especially those wonderful Sith Lords, and in order of farthest to nearest in travelling distance they were, Muppet - Amro - Mack - Duffman for bring their Vaders and to Sez for bringing her Nihilus (aka Mrs Vader).
Vast majority of these photo's used with the kind permission of Shanna Jones. Thanks Shanna, top notch work! Others have been used without permission and I will remove any upon request.
