Details: This was the Redback's third appearance at Dayboro Show, we've had mixed luck with the weather, but no rain this year.
We did two stints in costume, essentially long patrols around the outside of the arena. The show had a good sized sideshow alley, the arts craft and produce on show, and various vendors. Including my favourite, the machinery vendors, who are always accomodating having Star Wars characters all over their vehicles and equipment.
The crowd in the morning was bigger than previous years, and we had a couple of extra troopers for our wrangler to manage. In hindsight we would have been better off with a second wrangler or face costume to manage the troopers (note to self for next year). But the benefit was we got the maximum number of troopers for the group photos, and hopefully that has an impact on the show committee to invite us back and continue their donation next year. Despite the challenges Kelz did a great job wrangling and taking photos.
It was Cap's first troop in costume, and he handled the snowie like a pro.
The show committee were again good to deal with and grateful for our attendance. We were invited to troop both days of the show but we focused our numbers on trooping Saturday. Change room was an equipment shed, easy to find and fine for our needs.They will be making a donation on our behalf and I'll update this post when it comes through.
Thanks troopers for making the drive out there, it was a great day.
