Pink Ribbon Charity Fair - Mackay

Mission: To help raise funds for the local charity for the Cancer Council Qld.

Details: The day started out with an hour watching the crowds build for the first hour.  Then the "pinkification" was to be done!  We changed with Elmo and a Fairy and quickly became popular due to the fun-loving antics of our TK and Tusken... popular with the public!  A sunny day with a few clouds looming made it quite muggy inside the costumes so an hour around the whole site per troop was suffice.  Visiting all stalls, catching up with Blazer again with the Firies, dancing with the Mackay Rock'n'Rollers and the CheerGirls...

A spot of rain didn't deter the TK... or maybe he just didn't feel it! But I had to run for cover to ensure my face painting didn't run - supporting the Redback Garrison ALL the way.  Everyone has to get their face painted, right!

The Jawa and Tusken couldn't resist running over and playing on the swing (those pesky sand people and scavengers - can't take them anywhere!) before calling it a day from 3 trooping rounds of shaking the tins and getting photos with the public and giving lots of laughs and putting heaps of smiles on the kids faces.

The organiser was very happy and has already asked us to come back net year for the 5th Anniversary of the event as it keeps growing with the public.

Charity Funds Raised: $97.10 contributed from tins to the day

Injuries / Malfunctions:No injuries or malfunctions

Public Incidents: Just a child who was extremely excited and jumped up when seeing us then burst into tears.

Mission Status: Success with us being asked to come back for the 5th Anniversary of the event for next year.
