Details:
parkrun is a not-for-profit organisation established in the United Kingdom in 2004 to provide a free, weekly, timed 5km running event to every community that wants one. Events are organised by local volunteers with support from parkrun HQ.
Highfields parkrun was established in October last year, and had this week as a Superhero Dress Up week.
Arriving at stupid-o'clock on a Saturday morning, we got suited up and headed to the start line with a bunch of keen runners and headed off.

After a short run and fogging of lenses we decided our mission would be better served cheering the runners on instead of actually running. Lots of high-5s and smiles. Those kids in prams really worked hard!

We then headed to the finish line to support the runners as they made their way up the last hill.

We attempted to arrest Flash for running too fast...

But unfortunately Wonder Woman came and overpowered us and set him free.

A total of 83 runners, well up on their average of about 60, were all happy to have us there supporting them. Lots of smiles and photos after the run.
