Troop Date: Sunday 12th March 2017
Venue:
Q1 Building, Hamilton Drive, Surfers Paradise QLD.
Time: 8.30am for a 9.20am climb.
Mission: Promo shoot for DW2017 and the GECB. This was a video and photographic event. Due to costume restraints there was a limitation as to what costumes could participate. Only TB, TA, TI and BH (Boba) fit the requirements.

Details: This was one of those troops that was always going to be a little out there. We had to climb on the outside of the Q1, up the Skypoint Skywalk and get some photos and video footage....in armour. With armour, sight and most other restrictions in place to make this difficult we managed to get up there and do what had to be done....be awesome 265m in the air. After the initial climb to the top, which winded most of us, we got to see the GC from a completely different vantage point. The entire Gold Coast was there for the taking. all we need was a few flights of TIE fighters to call in and direct to eliminate any rebel scum in the area. The best we could do was a little Senna that actually flew lower than where we were standing.
With it being not the season for the whales to swim past we took the footage needed for our propaganda department and headed back inside for a quick couple of shots.....or so we thought. By now quite a few tourists were on the Skydeck and they lost their minds when we got back inside. We were treated like rock stars and about 8000 photos, videos and selfies were taken. Methinks we need not worry about turning the Gold Coast to the Dark Side. They love us already. With he final shots taken we headed back down to terra firma and dearmoured.
Changed we headed off to the Pancake Manor, where we had pancakes to celebrate our triumphant troop into the stratosphere! This may have even been a record for the Legion.
Charity Funds Raised: Propoganda shoot
Injuries / Malfunctions: Cueloopz had a little back ache after the climb (little being an understatement poor bugger). He also missed out on pancakes.
Public Incidents: Getting mobbed by tourists is an incident right?
Mission Status: Totally success.
