Details: Once again the few and the brave (and some would say stupid), got up really early and headed to the Brisbane CBD to walk 10km in armour. This year we had a newbie join our band of brothers......and he was late.  Apok, cobra, MyKill and bigmac all met in the car park at SW1 to suit up and head to the start line.  Nilrem got chauffer driven to the start line in armour and still was late.  With the usual photos with the punters waiting in the cold for the real runners to head off, the team were already thinking of breakfast and a beer at the finish line.

The pace, without thinking, was once again a cracker.  Quite a few people had to start running ahead of us as they did not want to get beaten by the stormtroopers.  Apok decided to run after a few people to show them that we could out pace them if we wanted to.  As the kilometers slipped by the team were feeling pretty good, except cobra who for the second year running was attending this event suffering from the flu.  Cobra does not let the team down.  Cobra is tough as nails.  Cobra is not a sooky la la.  Be like Cobra!  With helmets fogging up regularly, it was nice to take them off every now and then to breathe fresh air and see the world in a colour other than green.  The pace was great until Cobra had a thigh armour piece detach from his ab plate.  That's when the our time went out the window.  Gaffe tape was retrieved and repairs made.  All good until the gaffe didn't hold.  What to do!  More gaffe tape!!!!!  In the end the gaffe tape made a good handle for Cobra to hold onto for the last 4 kms of the course.  Once Apoks belt popped we had to troopers holding their armour together to get across the finish line.  We got there though and we had a great time once again.

Then it was off to get changed and have a well earned beer and breakfast.  Unfortunately the pub had a massive line and we decided to go have Subway instead.  It was tasty, but there was no beer.  Oh the humanity.

Hopefully next year we will have a another couple of troopers decide to give this event a go.  Nilrem is coming back, so that will be 5 idiots ready to go.  Do you want to be the 6th?

COMPLETION TIME: 1:48:19

Charity Funds Raised: TBC (the website won't show the totals)

Injuries / Malfunctions: Cobra had a thigh armour blowout and Apok had his belt detach.  One would think that armour doesn't like walking this far multiple times.  Some repairs are in order.

Public Incidents: Apok ran into his first girlfriends sister.  Not awkward at all.

Mission Status: A total success.  Anyone that wants to challenge themselves should drag themselves out of bed and give this a go.  It is a great experience in team building.

Photos: To come.
