(This post was last modified: Saturday 6-Oct-2018, 11:29 AM by APOK.)
Date: 31st May 2018
Venue: Marriot Hotel, Surfers Paradise
Time: 6.00pm to 8.00pm
Mission: To add some Star Wars feel to the AUSCERT2018 Conference.
Trooper Attendance:
RBG: TKID and username/costume
3409 Apok – TX Nova Elite
49000 Studio 49 – Vader
9745 Hoon – Gamorrean Guard
19770 Spooky – Jawa
18072 TK Hess – TK
5092 Glitch - Shoretrooper
RL: Username & costume - mark N/A or delete if not applicable
Jediprincess – Leia Senator
Lucky Phil - Jedi
Details: Apok arrived nice and early to make sure that all troopers arriving knew where to go. Studio 49 arrived next and then they started to get worried. Where was everybody!
Then the communications started to come in. Darklite311 and Chelle had an unfortunate transportation accident going home from work. Flashheart had to attend to his younglings and Scout472........we just don’t know.
Hoon text that he had trouble getting out of Jabba’s Palace, but would be there asap.
One by one the team assembled and we got ready to head out. What we were actually doing we still didn’t really know as the event host.....didn’t really know. She was just excited that we were there. We formed up and hit the elevators to head down to the lobby.
Hotel guests and Conference guests swamped us immediately for photos and once we managed to get away we head down to the pool area. We mingled, we watched people eat and drink and laugh that we couldn’t......
The hour we were there went by faster than Solo did the Kessel Run and the Conference guests left for their dinner and speeches. Back at the lobby we were again swamped by hotel guests and then it was time to dearmour and bug out.
A very easy troop that brought us some more well needed charity funds for the APDRA. Well done team!!
Charity Funds Raised: $2000. Just received confirmation yesterday! Funds going to the Arundel Disabled Riding School.
Injuries / Malfunctions: Nil
Public Incidents: Seeing that we were pretty much trooping in the dark, with people having drinks, beside a pool and nothing happened, makes this troop very special.
Mission Status: Seeing that AUSCERT started at $1000 and look to increase this to $2000 makes this troop a complete success!
Photos: Auscert said they would send some, but that hasn't happened yet.
