Toowoomba Christmas Wonderland 2021 Troop #2
#1
Date: 11/12/21

Venue: Queen's park botanical gardens, Toowoomba

Time: 6pm arrival for 7pm start. 9pm finish.

Mission: To take pictures with the public and bring Christmas cheer.

Trooper Attendance:
RBG: Bolt CC:33827, Oxy TK:29566, Snips BH:22810, Sharpshooter ID:22008, BobaCanuck BH:57730

RL: None

MM/GA etc: None

Support Crew / Guest Trooper Attendance: Scotty33 TK:90579
Wranglers etc.

Details: Everyone arrived nice and early again. This time we had the genius idea of signing in before we kitted up, so we headed to the park entry and did that. Thankfully this time we had an SES volunteer who knew who we were and let us in. We used this opportunity to scout out the park beforehand. Besides getting attacked by enormous mosquitos this worked well.

We kitted up and entered the park slightly after 7pm, the park was already packed with people so making it to our spot was a challenge.
I had to yell above the noise to get people to form a line to take turns getting photos.

Scotty arrived and wrangled for us, we were beyond busy and didn't stop taking photos for an hour and a half.

Big thanks to everyone, we did great! Having both Bo Katan and Boba Fett on the same troop was a real treat… even if people called both of them "the Mandalorian".
We had a lovely moment with some special needs ladies, Sharpshooter.. mate you were their favourite so congrats.

Charity Funds Raised: Indirectly

Injuries / Malfunctions: No injuries besides some sore shoulders and legs. Snips broke her rangefinder before we started trooping and my shins need work.

Public Incidents: A few crying kids this time, woops!

Mission Status: Complete success.

In the previous thread https://www.501st.com.au/forum/thread-16051.html the SES guys had to be persuaded Smile And this time they already knew you, so they let you in Smile

I wonder how you proved you were the same? You were kitted up, weren't you?

The SES volunteers who were on the gate this time were ones that have been doing it for several years. They recognised us before we suited up and we are the only star wars characters who come to the wonderland, so they can safely assume who we are.
