Details:
Friday Bump In -
After CRAZY traffic (what is it with GoldNova bump in's and awful traffic?!), Ktty Snips and Bolt started to try and find the space we were going to be in, made harder by the fact the usual space was barricaded off this year. After chatting to the exhibitor organiser, we were able to find some space on the con floor - this is solely because we did not have our awesome wall backdrops! The organiser has noted that should we be more flexible with our space requirements and not need the big walls, we will be able to find space a little easier for these 'sold out' shows.
We quickly got Bolts jeep unloaded and all items inside to our little space but unfortunately with a car in the way we couldn't do too much else. Bolt and Snips headed to their hotel to check in and Ktty unloaded her car up into the con floor and change room. Thumb swung by after work to give some assistance once Bolt and Snips were and within an hour or so, we were all set up!

Saturday and Sunday convention days -
A lot of our troopers first times with the Redbacks from a convention - VERY exciting!
The decision was made by Bolt that the turret might be best for members only, so we manned that over the weekend.
Being on the floor, and with such a fun set up, meant we got a lot more interest and foot traffic than we normally might for a GoldNova! Having Din and Boba out together first thing Saturday morning also was a bit of a drawcard
Saturday was such a busy day - they said that it was the busiest show day for Gold Coast they've ever had, and if you were one of few who tried to move around the show floor, I definitely believe that
Sunday was a little quieter but still pretty consistent. A few less members Sunday as is always the way but we still did a great job of manning the stands and having a presence, up until about 5.30ish where we decided it had died off quite a lot so it was time to dekit and start to prep for bump out

Sunday Bump Out -
We were politely asked to begin bumping down first so that they could get the cars and forklifts in at the door we were near. This did mean unfortunately we could not access the loading dock. A few trips down stairs and in elevators to get the turret back down to the jeep, and a cheeky side of the road load onto the roof and we were all down.
With a number of hands available for bump out, it made it a pretty quick one!

Overall, the weekend went well!
Definitely some thoughts and feedback around our attendance at GoldNova, but if they're flexible with us and not having a big set up, that's something we can maybe look at working with going forward
I hope all troopers in attendance enjoyed their weekend, especially if it were your first convention with the Redbacks!
A massive thank you to those who assisted with bump in and bump out; as well as those who bought props and items along to showcase at the stand - as well as to Snips who jumped in to assisting with POC duties at times when Ktty needed extra hands!

Charity Funds Raised:
$495.55 in cash
We are unable to track their QR donations

Injuries / Malfunctions:
During bump in, Ktty smacked her head on the turret gun in very classic clumsy Ktty fashion
During a photo, Magic was bumped and a grav charge came out of it's slot - thankfully no explosion and was able to slot back into place
Magic's darksaber didn't want to play nicely

Public Incidents:
A few unsure kids
Many 'Vaders' and 'Stormtroopers' thrown around - without any on the stands at that time
A few security guards were a little toooooooo strict at times

Mission Status:
A great success!
PR team are working on a survey to go out post Nova

Photos:
My biggest struggle is getting this to work

Fantastic work team! Thank you Casey for your leadership again, we certainly made the best of a tricky situation with SupaNova not knowing where to put us.
I am relieved that our set-up went so well, we had plenty of foot traffic the entire weekend.
Thank goodness we had a small set-up because we would have been stuck an hour waiting for the loading dock.

Congrats to all the troopers and cadets who attended their first convention, across the board I think you all did a great job!

Loving the pictures Andylah! We had quite a few great videos and pics taken over the weekend which is exciting.

Echoing Bolt's comments here, the space worked really well. I know we have taken a lot of way for how the space was managed to offer us options moving forward!

Loved trooping as Fett with Mando Mando for the first time, so good....
