Venue Address: The Oracle East building. Oracle Blvd Broadbeach Level 2
Mission: To give out the first of the Certificates of Appreciation to Gold FM and Anna Dare for their support for some of our events but in particular the DW events over the past couple of years.
Gold FM over the past two years have donated thousands of dollars worth of free advertising and talent to produce radio commercials for the DW events.
Anna Dare is one of their employees and the main driving force to get this done. Anna also helped this year with the social media side of things on the Dw2013 FB page and the Community Connect pages she runs through Gold FM.
We were also there to help Anna promote Radio Lollipop which Gold FM will be helping get back up and running in the new Gold Coast hospital.

Detail: After piloting the shuttle to collect Oigen we headed to the Gold and Sea FM communications bunker. On the way we received confirmation that Azrael and Elektra were already at the drop off point. Azrael early???? Had to be Elektras doing
. She deserves a commendation for that.
Once the team was assembled we headed to the the bunker trying not to look inconspicuous with three large bags of equipment and our Garrison shirts. This was a covert mission after all.
Once inside we were ushered into a room to armour and get ready for a 10.15am kick of......it ended up being an 11am kick of due to everything running late. Once the team meeting come to our turn were march out to the awe and amazement of the assembled Imperial citizens.
Anna then proceeded to give the reason why we were there. Mainly to say thanks for the support of Gold FM with the DW troops but also to try and get recruits for Radio Lollipop that Gold FM are trying to get back up and running at the new Gold Coast Hospital when it is open.
Then it was our turn to shine giving both Spider Everett (AFL footy legend and Gold FM Morning crew host) the Gold FM certificate of appreciation and Anna hers. Both were very chuffed.
Then it was off to say hi to all the other people that didn't get to see us as they were on air. One of those was Charli (formerly from Hi5) one of the Sea FM breakfast crew. She was very happy to see us and keen to pose for a photo. We were happy to oblige
.
Then it was down to the coffee shop to say hi to some very excited baristas that Anna had mentioned our presence to. They squealed like excited school girls when we walked in and we were happy to have a spot of tea and coffee with them. I do believe Anna will be getting a few free cups of coffee over the coming weeks.
With our mission complete we de-armoured and headed to get refreshed at the Cecil DeMille pub in Southport. You may have seen the photos on FB.
This was a great troop because it showed the people and companies that help us that we appreciate them.

Public Incidents: The coffee shop crew almost wee'd themselves with excitement when we went to visit. almost.
