Hi Kath, nice choice in costume there., Mel, 'Fampa' one of very own Redbacks, had this costume a few years ago but has since sold it. It's nice to see that type of costume back here in QLD. Make sure you keep the pics coming as you progress.

Thats looking great
Are you going to do the staff or just the detonator? Who are you getting your bandolier from? If you still need boots, there are some awesome cheap ones at some of the shoe shops in Indro. Like $60. Theyre the right colour but have some details around the ankle.. I think they could be covered with the legwarmers XD

Thanks Tirilia,
Hopefully Redpaint will make the staff soon but I am hoping to get the thermal det as well. Will keep an eye out for the boots on Wednesday at Indooroopily - thanks for the heads up. Already have the bandolier, but have to change the length. Good to meet you at Keiran's place so I can finally put a face to the name. Hope you got what you wanted done. Cheers Kath.

Hey Kath found this,
Hi there. My first post on the main RL site! I've taken my first step into a larger world My Dad & I made my Boussh weapon/pike/staff...whatever it's called! It's difficult to find good reference pictures of it and the ones made by fans/costumers tend to differ from each other. All of the parts can be bought from DIY stores and it took about 2 weeks to make. We bought a piece of copper tubing which we cut into three pieces- the main long middle part, and two smaller lengths for the top and bottom. We then put some screw-type fixings onto the ends so they could all be screwed together. This makes it easy to transport and it fits into a rifle bag nicely. I've put together a photo album of the making of the weapon: http://picasaweb.google.com/suzijedi/Bou...directlink Hope this helps! Most of the peeps who have made these all say they use pvc piping and plumbing bits. Hope this helps a bit. |
