Toowoomba Comic Geddon 2026

Date: June 14th 2026
Venue: Founders Pavilion, Toowoomba Showgrounds.
Time: 8:00pm – 4:00pm
Mission: To put smiles on faces and get our name out in the community.

Details:

Bump-in was completed by Bolt, Snips and Oxy on Saturday 13th from 12:30 til 2:30pm. 

0800: Toowoomba troopers arrived. We set about putting new batteries in props and sorting the change room.
0815: Mykill arrives.
0830: KTTY and Thumb arrived. Parking was a real problem as there were a lot of other events happening at the showgrounds. Long walking times between vehicles and the backdrop were a bit of a pain. 
0850: Magic and Jenarriee arrived.
0900: Doors opened. Oxy, KTTY, Thumb and Mykill took the first trooping shift. All others wrangled. 
0930: Crowds were slow to start, but began to pickup. 
1020: Glitch arrives. 
1030: The spider incident happens. No casualties. Bolt gives guided tours of the turret. Many children become qualified gunners. 
1100: Glitch and Bolt kit up to relieve troopers at the stand. Magic suits up not long after.
12:30: Glitch, Bolt and Magic take pictures with the Disney princesses. Grogu becomes their leader. 
13:30: KTTY and Snip record tic-tok videos
1400: Thumb kits up again and we take a group photo
14:30 Bolt dekits and after a break Glitch troops again. 
1500: Magic and Jenarriee finish for the day, crowds slow as the event nears the end.
1530: Finished trooping for the day. 
1600: Pack-up begins.
1700: Pack-up completed. 

Injuries / Malfunctions: Mykill almost had an asthma attack while packing up, Magic got so soggy with sweat his velcro started to stop being sticky in his shoulder bell, my velcro also gave up on my shoulder strap and a new snap on my cod/butt broke, Glitch apparently "couldn't breathe" in his helmet and Roger needed some glue after a rough trip in the trailer.

Public Incidents: The spider incident: A very large spider (roughly 100mm in size) decided to wait until 10:30 to crawl out of the blaster cannon. This terrified KTTY, Snips and several members of the public who ran for their lives. Bolt was giving turret tours at the time and removed his shoe, using it to -unalive- the monster. 
Following this incident, the blaster cannon will no longer be stored in Bolt's shed. 

Total funds raised for Tony's Community Kitchen: $107.20 cash (plus several QR code donations). 

Mission Status: Lots of very sore and tired troopers, but the event was a great success.
